Half Life Sequel Arrives on Steam?

The title is an award winning video game released in 1998 for PC platforms. The first-person shooter amassed a cult following. “Half Life” is a Action, Sci-Fi concept that features a story driven narrative. It’s revered as one of the greatest games of all time. The game would spawn a successful franchise in the form of expansions and sequels. “Half Life” was the debut video game developed by Valve. The title earned many awards since its initial release. In January 2013, “Half Life” released for PlayStation 2 gaming consoles. The  move cemented a cult following in the gaming community.

“Prospekt”, Official Fan Made Entry to “Half Life”

On Feburary 2016 a new chapter to the “Half Life” franchise will be release. Yet, its not the sequel fans of the series were expecting. Development to the upcoming video game was undertaken by a single individual. It took over eighteen months to refine the visuals, programming and game play. Twenty-five year old game designer Richard Seabrook developed “Prospekt”. At his disposal were graphics and assets from “Half-Life 2”. This fan made medium isn’t a covert, unsanctioned operation. Value gave its official blessings on project’s development. Furthermore, “Prospekt” is currently available for pre-oder on Steam.

The official description of “Prospekt” reads as follows:

Prospekt begins in the Nova Prospekt prison in the Half-Life universe. Gordon Freeman is slowly being overrun by soldiers in the prison, however unknown to him, his Vortigaunt allies manage to find some help from a forgotten hero.

“Prospekt” introduces a new generation of gamers to the “Half Life” franchise. Important note; “Prospekt” is a standalone game and “Half Life 2” is not needed. “Prospekt” features thirteen levels. A  story driven narrative that encapsulates the “Half-Life ” universe is also prominent.
